**Each 30, 60, 90 or 120 minute massage is customized for your needs. It is very important to ALWAYS speak up DURING your massage, and let your therapist know if you need the pressure to be corrected, (i.e. if you need them to lighten up because it is too deep, or to apply more because it is not deep enough).
REFLEXOLOGY is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers to stimulate more than seven thousand two hundred nerve endings in each foot. These nerve endings correspond to all parts of the body, including organs and glands. Reflexology services can also include work on the hands and head. Stimulating the appropriate region is intended to eliminate energy blockages thought to produce pain or disease in the related areas. Reflexology is used to prevent, rather than cure, and is used to relieve a wide variety of ailments.
THERAPEUTIC LIGHT MASSAGE: One of the primary goals of this technique is to relax the entire body. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits include increased blood circulation, mental relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.
THERAPEUTIC DEEP MASSAGE: Therapeutic deep massage is a very specific massage treatment in which the therapist uses knuckles and elbow’s to “strip out” muscle tissue as far down to the bone as possible. It is definitely not for everyone. This modality can be helpful to the following people: athletes who are considerably harder on their bodies than the average person, people who are undergoing physical therapy to aid in the breakdown process of scar tissue, (AFTER PROPER HEALING FROM THE INJURY HAS OCCURRED), or anyone who has very dense tissue and thus responds better to the work. Techniques that may be used during your therapeutic deep massage include trigger point therapy, which is a bodywork technique that involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body, myofascial (myo meaning muscle, fascial meaning connective tissue) release and/or neuromuscular therapy or NMT.
REIKI (RAY-KEY) is known as Rei “soul spirit", Ki “vital energy". Reiki was discovered by Buddhist monk Mikao Usui in the 1920’s during his own personal journey of transformation. Reiki is not a religion or to be used in replacement of medical treatment. Reiki is a type of natural energy modality that unblocks and re-balances areas in the body, allowing the body to return to an optimal state to promote healing.
A session consists of a fully clothed client lying on a massage table with a blanket and soft music in the background. Reiki involves non-invasive touch where the practitioner’s hands are held above a series of areas where reiki is transferred through the palms of the practitioner.
During the session, the client may experience feelings of relaxation, and afterwards, experience better digestion, a better sense of being centered, better sleep, and better alleviation of anxiety and fatigue. Reiki also helps with pain management, boosts immunity, and can even remove toxins from the body.Prior to arrival, please wear comfortable lose fitting clothing, shoes that require socks (you will be asked to remove shoes), minimal jewelry, and no scents.Upon arrival recipients are asked to sign a waiver/consent. A brief assessment will be made of health concerns and areas that are sensitive to touch.
HOT STONE MASSAGE: Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body.
AROMATHERAPY: The practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The inhaled aroma from these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function.
MYOFASCIAL CUPPING: Applying silicone cups through vacuum suction to decompress soft tissues, decrease fascia adhesions, release scar tissue and improve circulation. Often the therapist will combine this with passive and active movement. A great treatment for improving mobility, decreasing scar tissue formation, as well as facilitating improved motor control.
